More Than Just a Teacher Number: Reclaiming Our Dignity

More Than Just a Teacher Number: Reclaiming Our Dignity
We have Employee Numbers. We have Item Numbers. We have GSIS BP Numbers. But sometimes, in the rush of submitting the IPCRF, the SF2, and the endless reports, we forget that we are humans first.
The news lately has been heavy. The workload is increasing with the new curriculum. The pay, while increasing, never seems to catch up with prices.
You Matter
But I wrote this blog to remind you: You matter.
Not because of your high passing rate. Not because of your flawlessly decorated classroom. You matter because of that one student who smiled today because you were kind to them. You matter because you showed up.
Self-Care is Non-Negotiable
This weekend, don't bring the papers home. (I know, easier said than done). But try. Leave the laptop at school. Spend time with your kids, or your pets, or just sleep.
We cannot pour from an empty cup. To teach well, we must live well.
Yakap, Teachers.
